Temporary post, may delete. But tell me if I shoul Temporary post, may delete. But tell me if I shouldn't...

You might have realised I'm being more active on Instagram lately. I've been posting photos that are not as pleasing (for a photographer) as some of my earlier posts on Instagram were.

The thing is, I never gave much importance to Instagram (or any other social media for that matter, including Facebook. When tiktok was banned I didn't even have an account there).

Why?

Because I have always believed social networks like instagram are temporary. They come, and they go.

A personal business (a blog, for a blogger, for example) is, however, permanent. My website (footloosedev.com) was there in 2016 and it will be there in 2116. My blog is my permanent identity. My instagram, despite being mine, is not mine. It's here today but it may not be here tomorrow (just like tiktok ban in India).

But lately, I've realised that Instagram, and other such social media platforms are a good way to support (even if on a short-term) my travel needs. Brands have been actively paying social media influencers like me to promote their products and services.

Naturally, if I post more, stay more active on Instagram, I'll get more followers, hence more sponsored work. And this is why I've been posting more lately.

Now, posting more may lead to posting photos that are not as visually appealing as they should be -- call it the quality Vs quantity effect.

So, I ask again, tell me if I should post regularly. Tell me if I'm doing okay. Tell me if my content is good and I shouldn't remove this photo.

My Instagram future is in your hands 😅😅

Clicked in a @jawamotorcycles showroom in Ambala during my on going trip to Himachal Pradesh.

I've left home today (16 November) and on this trip, I'll be wandering across Himachal for the next 2 or 3 months.

Places I'll be covering: Khajjiar, Chamba, Dharamshala, Kullu Valley, Rohtang/Atal tunnel and Lahaul Valley.

The idea is to find a permanent base in Lahaul (or Manali perhaps) and spend the winter there.

Regular videos will be released on my YouTube channel.

Today: Delhi to Ludhiana.
Tomorrow: Ludhiana to Bakloh (Himachal).
That's all I know for now!
Stay tuned!!

When I quit my corporate career in 2016 and became When I quit my corporate career in 2016 and became a full-time travel blogger, I became so because I was camera shy.

Despite having years of film-making experience in England, it was because of this I decided to pen down my travel experiences and not document them in reel. Yet, somewhere deep inside my heart, I always wanted to face the camera. I wanted to vlog. And three years later, I made it happen.

I remember the day I made my first YouTube vlog - It was the same day my new motorcycle was being delivered and I decided to document the moment in a video. It didn’t matter how the final video came out; what mattered was that I decided to come out of my comfort zone and #MakeItCount.

And after my first real YouTube vlog on 7th April 2019, I’ve never stopped since! Today, I have people who regularly watch my videos and remind me how much my content means to them. All of it happened because one fine day, I took that leap of faith.

How about you? Do you have a similar story about facing your fears? Share with me and @JackDanielsIndia. Let the world know your story!

Do you know that this route (only if you have an Inner Line Permit) is open for tourists for only 17 hours in a week -- between 7PM Saturday and 12PM Sunday!

It will cut down the time to Kailash-Mansarovar by about 80%.

Surrounded by worldwind of emotions, today, I want Surrounded by worldwind of emotions, today, I want to take you guys back in 2017, and thank someone who believed in me when I was still a very newbie blogger.

As some of you may already know that I started my blogging career in 2016. And in 2017, I was still waiting for that that first big break to happen.

This is when @narztashrique (after a short 2-min meeting at @satte_india) had me onboard for an upcoming Media Trip to Selangor, Malaysia.

Until now, I had only worked with @goatourism, in India.

A media trip to Malaysia not only let me explore the most beautiful part of Peninsular Malaysia but also gave me a couple of big names (@discoverselangor and @malindoair -- the official sponsors) to add to my resume (lol, resume sounds like a funny term to a freelancer like me, but you get the idea!).

2 months later @germanytourism invited me. And the game begun!!

When you have worked with a few big brands, it's easy to find work. But as a fresher it's not (even if you deserve it). This is when people like @narztashrique change it all for you. Rest, it's your work, your ability!!

What do you think?
Do you have someone to thank too? Tag them in the comments below and we both will thank them together 🙏🙏

Where? In Bharmour.

Bharmour is located at about 3 hrs drive east of Chamba, in Chamba district, Himachal.

It is a quintessential pilgrimage town that serves as a stopover for pilgrims visiting Manimahesh. Chaurasi temple (84 temple structures, Chaurasi in Hindi translates to the figure 84) and Bharmani Mata temple are two more popular spots around.

In the winter months, it's hard to find a tourist around. Most locals, moreover, migrate to lower altitude towns. And that's when Footloosedev visits Bharmour 😂😂

Been to Bharmour? Or heard of it before?
_______

PS: I'm on a 7-day itinerary across Chamba district with @etu.adventures
See that waterfall behind me?... that's Anan Water See that waterfall behind me?... that's Anan Waterfall -- a nearly 300 feet high fall. And located right next to the waterfall is the Anan Mata Temple.

The temple is one of the most beautiful and popular temples in district Chamba, with no mentions of its establishment.

If you ever visit Dalhousie, don't forget to visit the temple and the waterfall on the way. From Dalhousie, it's about 30km away (and on the way, if you're coming from Pathankot). From Banikhet, even lesser.

I've clicked some nice drone shots of the waterfall and the nearby landscapes, coming on my YouTube channel (in the vlog) soon! A detailed blog for today's itinerary, that included a visit to Anan Waterfall and temple, a nearby village (for local food experience) and the viewpoint for the tri-junction of Himachal, J&K and Punjab on my blog footloosedev.com also coming soon!

इंतज़ार कीजियेगा 😃😃
