Why I Want To Solo Travel In Bhutan Again
My solo travel to Bhutan is one of the most highlighted journeys I have ever had. For nearly 20 days, […]
This Bhutan travel blog page is a repository of all the articles I have written about the destination. I have been to Bhutan only once but as an Indian traveller who was not obliged to USD 250 royalty fee a day and could on his own, I explored the country inside out, like a real backpacker.
I started my journey from Phuentsholing and backpacked for over 3 weeks covering places like Thimpu, Bumthang and Trashigang, among others. I did a complete circle where I entered in Bhutan from Phuentsholing and exited from S.Johgkhar, via Bumthang.
I have written a few articles about my experiences that you can find below in this Bhutan travel blog.
Very soon, I am planning another trip now that Bhutan has applied a 1200 Rupees daily royalty fee on Indian tourists too – to explore a bit more of the country and to see how the new laws are going to affect Indian tourists.
The next trip I am planning is going to be a self-planned road trip where I am planning to follow the same route (in addition to a few more places) and do more travel blogs on Bhutan.
I think the fact that Bhutan is the only 100% Buddhist country left in the world is what makes it a more attractive destination. It has moreover been only a few decades that it has opened its borders to the world. Not much is known about the country and that is what makes it an interesting place to travel.
