India
This India travel blog is a repository of all the articles I have written on the destination – over 150 to date.
Being an India based blogger, I travelled to more Indian destinations than the entire world put together. I quit my corporate career in England as a documentary film-maker, moved back to my country and became a blogger. Since 2016, I have only been travelling and writing about my journeys on this blog.
So far, I have been to nearly 25 Indian states and 30 countries in total. And when I say BEEN TO it means thoroughly travelled – eg one month in Gujarat, two months in Rishikesh, that sort.
Since I am Delhi based and mountains are my first love, I spend most of my time in the Himalayas. I even started a camping business in the Himachal Pradesh under the brand name ‘Footloosecamps’ (see Footloosecamps.com or the Instagram Page for more).
The following India travel blog talks about all you need to know. They are destination guides, travel tips and detailed city and road-trip itineraries. Most of my trips are self-planned with a few of them being a FAM trip conducted under the respective destination’s tourism board – like Goa Tourism Board, Assam Tourism Board etc.
But however I travelled, these blogs are written keeping a normal person’s budget and time in mind. Eg, if I spent 2 weeks in Manali, I wrote a 2 or 3 days itinerary on Manali (because I understand that is what most people can afford).
Now let’s get started with all that I have written on India…

During my solo bike trip to Spiti Valley, I visited Chitkul — ‘the last Indian town’ with a prominent Buddhist settlement. It was more than 40 kilometres off my Shimla-Kaza route, yet I bifurcated. It was, after

Perched high on a mountain, surrounded by a couple of village homes and the soothing fragrance of the jungle, my temporary abode in Jangalia Gaon, near Bhimtal, felt more than just a weekend plan. “I can spend a lifetime here,” said a voice inside me. Though there were no tourist highlights around — no waterfalls

Lamayuru in one sentence? The last Buddhist town and a perfectly peaceful destination near Leh! I remember the first time I visited Lamayuru, it was in 2015. I wasn’t blogging back then but had already left my corporate life behind to travel indefinitely. Travelling solo, I met two other solo backpackers, and the three of

In 2020, the Border Road Organisation gave the Indian motorcycle community a new adventure trail — Lipulekh Pass on Kailash Mansarovar Road. In October 2020, I attempted a motorbike trip on this route and put my name in the history of the first few motorbikers who attempted it. No one, at that time, except for

The last time I did Manali to Leh, was some 4 years ago. Back then, it was one of the top adventure trails for motorbikers in India. And if someone wanted it a little more challenging, they would do the entire Srinagar-Kargil-Leh-Manali circuit. But times have changed now. The Indian government and the Border Road

Darma Valley was unlike any other place I’ve explored in Uttarakhand. It was 1 in the afternoon, and I grabbed myself somewhere in the middle of Darma valley, under the rocky cliffs near the town of Nangling. The terrain looked quite walkable but the comfort of a motorcar was far more appealing, despite sitting on

This Gangotri to Gomukh trek journey was not only my first solo journey but my first ever travel blog too! “It’s amazing how life experiences, sometimes, leave a strong impression on us.
