India
This India travel blog is a repository of all the articles I have written on the destination – over 150 to date.
Being an India based blogger, I travelled to more Indian destinations than the entire world put together. I quit my corporate career in England as a documentary film-maker, moved back to my country and became a blogger. Since 2016, I have only been travelling and writing about my journeys on this blog.
So far, I have been to nearly 25 Indian states and 30 countries in total. And when I say BEEN TO it means thoroughly travelled – eg one month in Gujarat, two months in Rishikesh, that sort.
Since I am Delhi based and mountains are my first love, I spend most of my time in the Himalayas. I even started a camping business in the Himachal Pradesh under the brand name ‘Footloosecamps’ (see Footloosecamps.com or the Instagram Page for more).
The following India travel blog talks about all you need to know. They are destination guides, travel tips and detailed city and road-trip itineraries. Most of my trips are self-planned with a few of them being a FAM trip conducted under the respective destination’s tourism board – like Goa Tourism Board, Assam Tourism Board etc.
But however I travelled, these blogs are written keeping a normal person’s budget and time in mind. Eg, if I spent 2 weeks in Manali, I wrote a 2 or 3 days itinerary on Manali (because I understand that is what most people can afford).
Now let’s get started with all that I have written on India…

It has been 4 months today that I have been living in Naggar. Today, I am going to discuss it all — my personal experiences, the best places to eat in Naggar, where to go for sunset (though mountains never have a sunset, if you know what I mean), and other details you may want

Thinking of running a hotel on lease in Manali, Shimla or someplace else in Himachal Pradesh? You need to read this… After nearly 5 years of my full-time travel blogging/vlogging stint, and working with tourism boards across the world, in 2021 I changed course. In May 2021, I took a tiny 4-room mudhouse property in

The first time I travelled from Delhi to Chitkul was 4 years ago. I was on a 9-day solo Delhi to Spiti Valley motorbike trip. My recent trip, on the other hand, took place in August 2019. On this trip, I was travelling with a friend and we were travelling from Delhi to Chitkul by

My search for offbeat destinations near Manali continues. I have covered places like the beautiful Soil Village, and the offbeat Sajjla in my previous blogs. In an attempt to find something similar on our Manali – Solang route, I ended up in Majach (also spelt as Mazach). I first heard of Majach from a friend

No, it isn’t the 30 Rupees entry fee that made me say so. It is the fact that when you’re in Naggar Castle you don’t feel you are in a castle. And it isn’t just the story of this particular castle. I have had a similar experience with almost all castles in Himachal Pradesh that

6 years later when I finally revisited that part of Ladakh I couldn’t be happier. Leh to Siachen Base Camp was far more adventurous and just about as picturesque as Leh to Nubra Valley. This 2-day journey (that we initially tried to attempt in a day, but failed) was one of those rare trips I

It has been 4 months today, living in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh, and I feel like a total jerk while writing this travel blog. Why so? Because all this long I never visited Nicholas Roerich’s once private residence turned into an Art Gallery. For any tourist who visits Naggar, it remains the most popular attraction. Think
