Fort Kochi Streets: In Photos and Pictures

These 25 Fort Kochi photos are your complete doze of a virtual visit. But before we see these pictures, let’s have a little introduction about my visit, perhaps…

Every place has its own defining attraction. And the tourist attractions in this cultural capital of Kerala needs no introduction. The Jew Town and the Chinese fishing nets make the headlines for most of the travel guidebooks and of Fort Kochi pictures in any blog.

But there is much more to see and plenty more to do there than just exploring the Jew Town and the Chinese Fishing Nets.

And speaking of the best way to explore its romantically artistic and historic outlook, and click some beautiful photos, you need to try a Fort Kochi walking tour. It is by walking on its many peewee lanes that you explore the real side of it and enjoy its laidback culture. For me, Kochi has always remained one of the top holiday destinations in Kerala.

Ideally, the town has two parts: Ernakulum and Fort Kochi, and it’s the latter that is more popular and holds all tourist highlights. It is, by far the most non-clicked Kerala. It does not have the relaxing houseboats, nor does it have the expected views of street-lined coconut trees.

Expect something more refreshing when you’re here. Other than what’s shown in blog about Fort Kochi photos, if you care to see more of it, online, I suggest you check the Kerala Tourism website.

And now, let’s move on to seeing some pictures that will give you the closest possible virtual tour of the colourful architecture you can find on Fort Kochi streets. You may not be able to smell the spices that you can otherwise do on a walking tour there but you will get a good idea of what travelling in this part of Kerala is all about.

Also, before I start, I want to share this useful resource on Kerala Travel Guide that talks about more travel destinations beyond what we are discussing here.

Now let’s get to the topic in hand and see some…

The narrow and confined Fort Kochi streets, as you continue with your walking tour here, seem to be struggling with its beautiful and badly restored colonial houses and the ugly but modern looking ones.

Here, you will find many of the buildings – like the Paradesi Synagogue – having its foundations marked in the late 16th century.

Almost every other wall in Kochi has been painted in radiant colours, with impressive graffiti being done on them, something that perfectly admires the colourful life.

This street art, that I found no less impressive than street art in Penang, in Malaysia or the street art in Perth is going to make some of the most beautiful Fort Kochi pictures you are going to click.

Other than the many regular highlights, you will see, as you will continue with your walking tour that it is the Jew Town Road that you should be exploring more of to get some beautiful Fort Kochi photos.

Other the pictures, here you will find some of the most high-end handicraft products you might have ever seen in India.

From a 1-meter high wooden camel (available at a price tag of 10Lakh Rupees) to the many miniature items carved out of rosewood – the Jew Town road is definitely in no shortage of mementoes and gift items.

Another thing I particularly loved about this place is people.

Their friendly, affable attitude towards the tourists makes this place more beautiful than how it is. Here’s to some of the smiling faces I stumbled upon while doing a walking tour in Fort Kochi streets…

Not to forget, there are many green spaces nearby. You won’t need to go more than 10 km outside of the town to get something like the pictures I have shared below. Though it is a drone photo, it certainly fits in this article to give you more perspective of what beauty we are talking about here.

That’s all in this Fort Kochi blog.

Here’s a video from my Youtube channel if you want to see some Fort Kochi drone shots. I made the video during my Delhi to Bangalore road trip. In the video, I travelled from Kochi to Alleppey…

    • Who says ?
But in our culture from the ancient times it was a woman’s lot. Not because our forefathers were egoist male but they thought that only a woman has the sestivity to raise the children properly as you very well know that they are the future society.
In a Hindu society woman is always respected, and in kerla woman is head of a family.

If a man does some household chores, does it mean that in that perticular family woman is respectecd ?
